My name is Kara and I am the founder of Urban Hippie. I've been practicing yoga and meditation on and off since I was about 13 years old. It wasn't until recently, when I had a scare with Ovarian Cancer at the ripe age of 28, that I quickly turned my "on and off" practice into my way of life.
Prior to my health scare, I was so goal oriented, focusing heavily on my career, my wedding, our new house, whatever the next big goal or milestone was. I became so laser focused on these goals that I lost sight of my spirituality and wasn't listening to my body.
Without a doubt Yoga & Meditation saved my life and these practices got me through some of the hardest times in my life. At Urban Hippie, we strive to demystify Yoga & Meditation so that it is more palatable and approachable for the modern day person so you don't need to wait for a health scare to take time to pause and nourish your mind, body, and soul!
